  • A little background information

    Throughout the past 8 years (beginning before age 14), I have gained an extraordinary wealth of experience while working as a remote and on-site freelancer with in-house development, marketing, and executive teams in startups and larger businesses alike. I have been successful in both the organizinational and planning phases in addition to the design, development, and launch phases of simple designs, backoffice UI's, web applications and entire websites of varying depth and complexity.

    My greatest strengths are also my passion

    Although proficient in object oriented PHP and LAMP environments, my true passion and strength is in designing modern, intricately detailed front-end interfaces. This process is followed by development of semantic, accessible, cross-browser XHTML & HTML5 markup, optimized CSS, and efficient, unobtrusive JavaScript. The end result? Vibrant, immersive user experiences for web apps of any size and flavor.

    I have proven experience in bringing data to life in the front end with AJAX, and developing applications on the backend with PHP and MySQL. Further, I have developed complete backend applications that provide (and consume) secure RESTful (XML, JSON) & SOAP based web services for database interaction and communication with various external payment, vendor & fulfillment APIs.

    Guard Dog Identity Theft Solutions

    Full-Time Contracted Web Developer, Graphic Designer & IT Consultant

    Performed duties as a web development consultant, front-end designer/developer, backend developer, graphic designer and project manager for various projects. Projects varied in scope - from simple graphic assets, landing pages, e-mail templates, microsites, and print marketing materials – to planning, organizing, and developing complex PHP web applications, API integrations, and UI development on the front-end and back-end.

    Programming/Development
    • Created custom PHP/MySQL based business management and administration (CRM) system in PHP with CodeIgniter, handling everything from recurring billing to order fulfillment and member authentication.
    • Developed REST API and API wrappers for new billing system (PHP - CodeIgniter)
    • Coded and integrated order fulfillment with external vendor SOAP web service (PHP) and external vendor XML API (PHP)
    • Built multiple AJAX forms and interactive solutions for both internal and visitor/member facing sites and pages - using standard javascript, jQuery, and Xajax
    • Created mutliple customer facing interactive forms, surveys, and of the data processing for form submissions, including storage in MySQL Database and API communication
    • Created and modified plugins for WordPress and other open source software

Operating Systems & Equipment

  • I currently utilize a Sun Microsystems Ultra 40 M2 workstation for day to day work. I have expert knowledge and experience in both Windows (currently Windows 7 x64) and Mac (OS X) operating systems, and intermediate-advanced knowledge and experience with Ubuntu Linux (desktop and servers). I currently utilize Windows in my primary work environment. Additionally, I utilize VMWare Workstation on my system for my development environment and building server images.
